Umair began the role of Project Lead for Rampion 2 Offshore Wind Farm in early 2023. Rampion 2, the only offshore wind farm currently in development on the South coast, is an exciting project aiming to provide over a gigawatt of green renewable energy by 2030. Prior to this, Umair was leading the Development of Five Estuaries Offshore Windfarm, located off the coast of Suffolk. Five Estuaries, marked the start of Umair\u2019s career in the renewables sector. Prior to joining RWE Renewables, Umair’s career was in the Oil and Gas sector and together he has over 15 years\u2019 experience working in project delivery and development. Energy has always been of interest and passion and has shaped his career to date. Umair believes it is an exciting time to be part of offshore renewables in the UK, as it presents challenges both from a planning and supply chain perspective.
